Barefoot Treeless Saddles
Barefoot® Saddles are the result of extensive research, a European Tree-Free Riding Concept, now available here! Introduced into the United States in
2004, Barefoot saddles have been used extensively and successfully by Endurance Riders, Competitive Trail Riders and Weekend Warriors alike.
Designed by a German Physiotherapist, the Barefoot saddles are the result of many years of research, development and professional knowledge.
Treeless saddles can be a pefect fit for many horses and riders.. The horse can move as nature intended, without any restriction from a wooden or solid
tree. The rider feels the movement, the arch of the horse's back and both enjoy the freedom.
There are many treeless saddles on the market. The Barefoot saddle is great for those seeking a secure, lightweight english rigged saddle that is a big
step up in quality, while remaining easy on the budget! Many styles are available, the Cheyenne, London, Tahoe and Atlanta, along with the western
styles, the Western Rigged Arizona which is available by special order, and the Sierra.
This saddle has a tendency to stay put . One of the most challenging fitting problems is keeping the saddle behind the shoulder blade. I am happy to say
that this problem has been easily solved in several cases for my students by changing to a Barefoot saddle. I strongly recommend that these saddles be
used with a specially made Skito saddle pad. I also feel that the leather models give greater support than
the synthetic models.

2. Lightweight. The Cheyenne weighs in at a low 7 pounds without fittings, Arizona
and Sierra at approx 12 pounds without fittings. Our London Dressage and Tahoe All Purpose Trail
weigh 10 pounds without fittings.
3. Lots of D rings (stainless steel) for trail riding stuff
4. English rigging...easy on you...easy on the horse. Any dressage girth will work!
5. . Moderately Priced! With many saddles these days costing $4000.00 or more these saddles are amazing at less than $1000.00 new. One of my
students just bought the Cheyenne and spent about $1000.00 for the saddle including fenders, girth and stirrups.
Recommendations:
* As with all treeless saddles, the correct pad is not optional, it is necessary. I recommend the SKITO or SUPRACOR. Which one is right for you and
your horse depends on a number of factors. Call me and we'll choose the one that is best for you.
* For your horse's comfort, always use a mounting block or aid
A wide flat stirrup works best. There are a variety of English style stirrups and endurance stirrups that work. The Easy Ride stirrups from Action

very durable if cared for properly. The cover can be washed in the washing machine, the insert can be hosed and laid flat to dry. It comes in many
